........... Hot on the high-heels of his first hit single in ten years, Superstar DJ, chart topping popstar, club icon, fashion guru and best selling author Boy George makes his Bangkok debut at Bed Supperclub on Thursday 27th May 2010.
Don’t be mistaken into thinking that George is just another celebrity that’s moonlighting as a club DJ. Years before George became a household name as the fabulous singer with Culture Club he was DJing in some of London’s
hippest clubs and Ministry of Sound hired him to compile one of their first ever compilations

...........About A Boy
Born as plain old George Alan O’Dowd he grew up in a large working class Irish family and later referred to himself as the ‘pink sheep’ of the family.
His androgynous looks might not have been too popular at home but they made him a poster boy for the New Romantics in the early 80’s. Around this time,
the late Malcolm McLaren, the manager of the infamous Sex Pistols, was also managing a group called Bow Wow Wow. Fronted by Burmese sixteen-year- old
Annabella Lwin, McLaren wanted someone to give Annabella a bit of a jolt on the stage and strengthen her vocally – so he enlisted the talent of a certain Boy George.
This inspired George to form his own band and Culture Club was born. Success came early and the band signed with Virgin Records in the UK and Epic Records in
America , releasing their debut album Kissing To Be Clever in 1982. It was their third single from that album, Do You Really Want To Hurt Me that scored a huge
success by reaching the number one spot in 16 countries.Culture Club became the first band since the Beatles to notch up at least three top 10 hits on
the Billboard Hot 100 from only their debut album. The group’s second album was also a success (1983), with the single Karma Chameleon rocketing to number
one in numerous countries, including the U.S. , where it stayed for four weeks. When C.C finally called it a day George formed ‘Jesus Loves You,’ and had a string
of hits with tracks like ‘The Crying Game’ (produced by the Pet Shop Boys)and the club classic ‘Generations of Love’. Respected artists like Massive Attack, Paul Oakenfold,
Pet Shop Boys, Faithless and David Guetta have all remixed his songs. George was also one of the first to kick start electro scene. In 2004, Boy George
under the pseudonym, ‘The Twin,’ released a pair of innovative electroclash 7” singles, and made live appearances at uber hip London venues like Nag Nag NagGeorge
has travelled the globe spinning at parties from Palazzo Versace in Dubai to leading nightspots in the Pacific such as Sydney ’s Mardi Gras Festival.
His latest single,
‘Amazing Grace,’ is being championed by A-list DJs such as Armin Van Buuren, Judge Jules,
and Sister Bliss.
